Recently my wife and I attended a day course on bee keeping. After waiting a couple of months our bees have arrived and we have set them up in a hive. The hive is in a temporary position until we finalise some work in the yard.

As the weather is getting warmer I decided to plant out my Voodoo Lily (Konjac) bulb. Having never done it before I did some research and received plenty of conflicting answers. In the end I decided to plant it around 10cm deep in potting mix and left it in a shaded area.
In the last couple of days I bought some seeds that my wife threatened me with death if I ever bought them. So I am I found randomly dead it was probably her.

The other day it worked out, I received my Blue Java Bananas. I ordered 5, kept 4 for myself and a lady from my wife’s work wanted one so she got the 5th. Here is how they arrived and after I potted them up. (more…)
I have been looking for Red Dacca and Blue Java bananas for a while now. I love bananas and from all my research these should be some of the best tasting varieties out there. (more…)

Originally, I registered this domain as a place to record my gardening hijinks. I was going to test a bunch of gardening folklore and document it to see if it is fact or myth. While I did start a few test I never really followed them through.
